Review: Skin Food All Over Muffin Cake Finish

I don't know if it is noticeable but the powder is on the lower portion of my hand.

BRAND:

Skin Food All Over Muffin Cake Finish

PRICE

HOW DID I FIND IT:
As a setting powder, this is woefully lacking and can't keep the oiliness of the bb cream away.
However, if you use something else to mattify your face and then apply this as the last step, the effect is simply perfect.

Provides a healthy glow and not too overbearing. However, you have to do several swipes and a lot of application before you can notice a change.

WOULD I REPURCHASE?
Probably, unless I can find some other finish powders that are easier to apply.

Review: Etude House Tear Eyeliner

This liner goes on the inner corner of your lower lash line. It gives your eyes a little pop and shine.

I really have to do something about the camera. At the moment, this is the best I can do. >_<

BRAND:
Etude House Tear Eyeliner

PRICE

HOW DID I FIND IT:
Simply great! I loved this. It is a little bit hard to apply, Perhaps because I have a few wrinkles on my eyes...

I am constantly using this and it gives a subtle shine to your eyes. Contains super micro glitters.

WOULD I REPURCHASE?
Yes! I think I'll go through this pretty fast though

Review: Avon Ultra Glazewear Lipgloss

The applicator is typical of lip glosses.

On the lips, however since my front camera phone is low res, this picture does not do the lipgloss justice.

BRAND:
Avon Ultra Glazewear Lipgloss in K303 Fiery Red

PRICE

HOW DID I FIND IT:
I loved this lipgloss. You only need a about two swipes and you're done. Perfect for creating those gradated lips. I also liked the color. It fits me so perfectly.

WOULD I REPURCHASE?
Yep, in a heartbeat. You got the thumbs up from me Avon!

2015 Update:
The gloss is sticking to everything... One wrong move and your clothes will have stains...

Review: Skinfood seaweed Shining Bronzer Pact

There is an embossed angel in the middle of the pact.

It also comes with its own brush applicator. I also saw that there's a teeny tiny hole at the back of the pact suggesting that this is refillable?

BRAND:
Skinfood seaweed Shining Bronzer Pact

PRICE
This was KRW12,000 or about php480

HOW DID I FIND IT:
I usually use bronzers for contouring my face. I found this shade too light. I still use it as such but I have to put more in. Plus after about four hours, it totally disappears on my face. I also don't think that the shade would even show up on camera.

I tried to take pictures with me using the product but it doesn't show up. Totally no difference in  before and after pics. I guess it would be noticeable minimally if the person was really looking for it.

Packaging is ok and I like that it has its own brush for easy application on the go.

WOULD I REPURCHASE?
No. This was an impulse buy.

Review: Tony Moly Backstage Gel Eyeliner #1 Black

I was in search of a great eyeliner. I guess, I've used just about everything, from the pencil ones, liquid liners and now gel type liners!

I was hoping that the gel type liners wouldn't be too hard to use and I was right. The thing to understand is you have to spread the gel a little bit at a time and not do the lining in one go.

It comes with its own brush. Really easy-peasy to use.

Here's how it looks on my eyes. It takes practice but I think this doesn't look too bad. Gosh, need to tweeze those eyebrows!!!

BRAND:
Tony Moly Backstage Gel Eyeliner #1 Black

PRICE
This was KRW8,500 or about php340

HOW DID I FIND IT:
Really easy application. Even easier than liquid liners. You also use so little of the product that this would last you ages, provided of course that it won't dry out on you.

For those considering the price a hindrance. Well, i am known to be frugal and I think that this is a good buy. Typical pencil liners are usually php100 and I also saw some liquid liners for php60. And I dare say that this liner would last you months and even years because you would need only tiny swipes of the provided brush to do your eyes.

The only thing I noticed was when your eyelids become oily, the liner tends to stick to the upper portion of your eyes when it comes to contact with your lids as you open your eyes. Also, it tends to smudge a bit after a whole day of wearing it on your face.

WOULD I REPURCHASE?
Probably not. Heck, I'll probably be using this one for 2 years at most and after all that time, I might want to use other liners just for variety.

2015 Update
Yes, I still haven't finished this product yet and it been 2 years already!

Coming Back from the land of beauty products: Korea!

I just came back from Korea and oh boy did I buy a lot of skincare products.
I had a great time.

Here's  a shot of everything that I bought...

Freebies galore!! I plan on using these first rather than the full sizes.
There's actually quite a lot and I think these would last me a month or two.
Freebies range from BB creams, Body washes, toners, emulsions, serums, and eye creams

Group shots!

Eye patches
The black one has 60 patches and the orange ones have 14.

Various facemasks from Skinfood, Missha, The Faceshop, Etude House, Holika Holika. I got such a steal from these. Holika Holika had the 1+1 deal and Missha had the 10+20. Faceshop 5+5. Basically getting 50% discount.

I didn't want to buy so much BB Creams because they are so damn hard to finish. And I still have a lot of BB Creams to finish up before I even open these ones. Right now, I am rotating using BB creams from Avon, Maybelline and Etude. Plus I still have sample BB creams that I haven't opened yet. So, sorry reviews of these will have to wait.

And yes, I am as much a sucker for packaging as the next gal. This is Tony Moly's fruit collection. An assortment of fruits masquerading as masks, lip balms and hand creams.

Facial washes. I can probably use one tube in about three months or four months. I still have the White Clay Mask from Etude and the samples sizes to go through though.

Cleansing Oils. Supposedly you're supposed to use these first to remove make up.
The one in the tray is a set of 4 egg soaps. Each having different purpose. Cute as hell. Bought that because it is the CNBlue Egg Soap. Love you Yonghwa!

Perfume sticks! This is so intriguing, I just had to buy it. The one on the right is from Tony Moly.

Finishing Powders, highlighter, bronzer (i was actually surprised to find this) face powders and blushers. And yes, I still have to finish blushers that I am using at the moment. Arrrgh.

An assortment of eyecreams, from Skinfood. The one in the pink cap is Etude House's concealer. Plus I think that the cooling stick is something of a new concept for me.

Sleeping packs and creams. The two boxes at the right are freebies from Skin79. Can you imagine? Wow! I love you Skin79!

The two ones in a tub are exfoliants and the one in the squeezy pump is a mask.

Serums and Essence..

Odds and ends that don't belong to any group. Hair mask, sunblock, freeze foam, and aloe gel.

Egg pore nose pack... How cute is this?

And lastly highlighters, the backstage liner from tony moly, tear drop liner from Etude and liners from Holika Holika.

Review: Etude House Happy Fresh Foam White Clay

Whatever I was using as a facial cleanser was already used up, so I was shopping around and saw this at Etude House.

I was particularly interested in the clay portion of the facial foam.

Plus the fact that this is a korean brand makes me doubly curious. Koreans generally have nice skin. I don't know weather that's because of their climate, the products they use or what they eat but i wanted to try this out.

Korean stuff at the back....

I just use a tiny amount and it lathers pretty well. I use this after my Neutrogena daily scrub.

Here's how it looks after cleansing.

BRAND:
Etude House Happy Fresh Foam White Clay

PRICE
This is around KRW4000 or Php268 locally.
I think it's a pretty decent price and is buyable.

HOW DID I FIND IT:
I really felt that my skin was tightening a bit after using this product. I find that it does what its supposed to do, which is clean my face.

I've been using this product for about 3 months now and I still have some left. Just use pea-sized amounts and it will last long.

It smells really good, like having baby powder on your face.

WOULD I REPURCHASE?
The product is good and if you buy this in Korea then you can get it cheaper. Yes, it's a good repurchase. But you might want to try the other variants.

Review: Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub

I was searching for an exfoliant. I was formerly using Clean and Clears Morning Burst which works particularly fine but unfortunately wasn't available here in Manila.

Shopping around Watson's, I found this one from Neutrogena. Says that it's gently enough for daily use.

Near the bottom, you can see those small yellow beads. Yes, that's what they use to exfoliate. Gently scrubbing ladies. Although the beads are fine enough to not hurt your skin.

This is how it looks on the skin. A bit runny. I know its not very clear but there are beads which break seconds after you rub it on your face.

BRAND:
Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub

PRICE
I can't remember, probably around Php300. I can get back to you on this when I go to Watsons.

HOW DID I FIND IT:
The thing that I find nice about this is that I can use this daily without having those awful red marks saying that I scrubbed my face too hard. It's really gently.

I was hospitalized recently and wasn't able to do my daily cleansing routine. Fast forward one week and I saw these humongous blackheads on my nose greeting me  hello. Arrrrgh!! Used with a combination of Neutrogena, some nose pore strips and overall mild pricking and voila blackheads quite manageable, baby!

WOULD I REPURCHASE?
Yes. I would.

Review: Bath and Bodyworks Liplicious Tasty Lip color Fruit Punch

It seems like I got a lot of items from the buy one, get one promo. I love this lipgloss.

BRANDBath and Bodyworks Liplicious Tasty Lip color
COLORFruit Punch

PRICE

This was priced at $7.50 but I know that this one was a buy-one-get-one deal. So, this is around Php 170. Come to think of it, even with the sale, its still pretty expensive.

HOW DID I FIND IT:
I like the taste. I usually put this on over my lipstick and the effect is amazing. It does not leave you feeling like you've placed oil on your lips. Smells nice too.

One thing though, the lipgloss makes your hair stick like crazy on your lips. So, if you have long hair like I do, better fix your hair up first before applying the lipgloss.

WOULD I REPURCHASE?
I can probably find a better product at a cheaper price. Afterall, what we really seek when using lipgloss is moisture.

Review: Rimmel Lasting Finish 06 Autumn Catwalk

As far as I know Rimmel is a European brand. I was browsing through CVS and saw that they were selling this at a buy one get one promotion.

The colors are great, I use the provided brush and swipe it across the palette and use it as a blush on.

It provides a somewhat shimmery finish but its subtle enough that its not really that noticeable.

When you open it, it actually has an imprint of a crown, which i found nice.

BRAND: Rimmel London
COLOR: 06 Autumn Catwalk

PRICE:

Also bought this during promo period. Probably around Php200

HOW DID I FIND IT:
It's really great. Although you have to reapply every 3 to 4 hours. Colors are not overwhelming. Provides a healthy glow to your cheeks with a hint of pink.

WOULD I REPURCHASE?
Yes, if I can find it here in Manila. Hahaha.

Review: Maybelline Fit Me 115

I've had this compact for quite some time. In fact, this is my second one. They had this buy one, get one promotion going on during that time so what the heck.

PRICE:

Since I bought it during the promotion. This is probably around Php150. Sorry, can't really recall.

HOW DID I FIND IT:

I guess, it's ok. I am using it whenever my face becomes oily but noticed that I had to retouch every couple of hours, I am most of the time in an airconditioned office so I didn't think that I would re-touch that much.

I also liked that the applicator was separated from the powder itself. I've experienced that when you place the applicator on the powder when storing. It tends to harden the powder and that makes it difficult to apply.

WOULD I REPURCHASE?

For me this was ok but i think that you can search for more options. So, I'm going to use this up and perhaps try some new products.
